So It's Come To This

How else to begin a new endeavor but by pondering one's mortality (if that opening sentence doesn't scare off the entirety of my potential audience, I don't know what will)?  Whenever it is that I proverbially shuffle off this mortal coil, I will have done so having left behind about a dozen half-assed attempts at starting a regular blog.  Some have lasted days, some months, and some even made it past a year.  Some I still have plans to resurrect one day, while others are permanently dead.  What they all have in common is that eventually the original motivation behind the blog faded, and there was nothing left to keep me soldiering on. 

The common thread, I suppose, is my innate laziness, and who wants that to be the main thesis of their digital life?

This again?  Great.

And so I start again today with InebreNation.  My previous blogs all attempted to have a narrow focus; after all, specificity is vital in branding.  The problem is that I have a naturally short attention span, and sooner or later that narrow focus began to bore me.  I harbor no such illusions with this blog.  I may be pretentious and self-serious one day and facetious and whimsical the next.  I may talk about current events, or I may wax nostalgic about the past.  I probably won't be talking about music here, as I already have a website for that, but any other potential interest is fair game.  The only expectations should be that each post will be written in vaguely recognizable English, with at least a majority of the words spelled correctly.  And hopefully, I'll keep at it.
